I've been trying to get my head around this for a few days but I'm none the wiser (though I've learnt a lot on other things).

Working on a friend's website, the static part of the menu, that is the first level that always shows is to be a large font than the submenu.  I'm using SolPartMenu (only free one I could get the dynamic submenus working with).

The site is here: removed and the code I've been trying to work with (simplified) is:

.MainMenu_MenuItem {
    font-size: 14px
}

.MainMenu_RootMenuItem {
    font-size: 16px;
}

and I've tried with:

.MainMenu_SubMenuItem {
    font-size: 14px
}

I just can't seem to get the two showing differently. What am I missing?

It works for me all the time just to have menuitem and rootmenuitem. Make sure in your ascx to use the

RootMenuItemCssClass="MainMenu_RootMenuItem" for it to pick up the css.
