TheDNN.Menu 1.8.0 is released. Here is a bit about the module abilities:

Dear Armand,

Thank you for your reply and comments.

Actually I am not really sure if we can rely on the validation or not as you can see there are number of errors for a simple page like Google: http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=www.google.com&charset=(detect+automatically)&doctype=Inline&group=0

However we are keeping eyes on these warnings and errors and we have not stoped developement yet ;)

Besides, our menu system is Javascript dependendt and this is required because of the complex features we are providing.

Hi

You are contradicting yourself, the menu is rich with features so it needs javascipt. True my menus use javascript also but you also mention SEO compatible. Not all search engine bots handle javascript well and just remove it and look for other links. if it cannot find correct html links nothingg is found

its also not all based on validators but there are very weird styles there ( im not mentining the basic css validation of nvalid .net pages but your very weird inline code )

span style=\"display:table-cell; )     thats totally invalid

inline styling add ot html code and therefore has the posibillity to be taken into account with serach engine bots. Seeing se bots only take in that much html at top the html page you realy dont want a navigation menu there with lots of inline code that could be done with smple classes

If a cleint would come to me with a skin and he wanted this dnn menu included I would not take the job because of the difficulties that could areise with this setup

Dear Armand,

Thank you for your reply.

The links of menu items are somehow being virtualized for Search Engines therefore, besides TheDNN.Menu is using JavaScript for the items; it can also help Search Engines to crawl the website links as well.

This is an empty page where you can only see the menu module in it: http://www.thednn.com/Managements/TestPage/tabid/165/Default.aspx

Regarding to the weird codes you have mentioned, I should say that those are not actually CSS codes but they are injected CSS codes using JavaScript codes and because they are inside JavaScript strings the Search Engines will ignore them. Besides, these are unpreventable once you are using JavaScript.

However, we all know that when you gain something you lose something else. Not everyone needs our module but there are many creative minds that need our module to implement their complex style into their portal navigation system.
