Hi All,

Recently, I have been working on some updates to the default friendly URL provider to include new functionality such as human readable URLs.

I've made the source code and updated provider available, as well as information about what has been done, and what is planned to be done.

You can find out more information here (and get the source/provider):-

Very nice job Scott!

Have you encountered any spider issues using this provider?

Not that I am aware of, all the new URLs seem to pick up OK in google. An important enhancement is fixed URLs for common links such as Login, Register, Terms, Privacy. This cuts down the number of these pages indexed for no reason..

Looks good.

If this is implemented on an existing site where there are links in the content of a module referring to other pages in the same site but using either the old 'default.aspx?tabid=2' or friendly format. Will these links stop working?

Antony,

From what I've experienced so far, old URLs do resolve without issue. This is really a nice provider.
