I'm using the DNN community version 5.4 that comes free with godaddy hosting.

Is there a way to import a list of contacts into the User Profiles instead of having to enter them one at a time? I have data in Excel that I'd like to upload. If possible I would also like to associate their user security group(s) to each one prior to uploading so that it is automatically assigned.

Ken -there is a 'Data Import" module that will let you import millions of users from an XML file and associate the users with a role.   It shouldn't take much at all to open the sample XML document in Excel, copy over your users and then load that file into the module.

You can download it from http://www.onyaktech.com/Products/Dow...

It's a FREE BETA release, so make sure you backup your site and test it before using it on a production server.

AFAIR, John Mitchel used to provide a script on his website www.snapsis.com. Besides, the module from PHDobson (PHD bulk user manager) appeared to me powerful and working as expected, as long as the passwords meet the requirements of the membership component.

Cheers from Germany,
