Anyway, the ETA for 4.5 is still march 15, so just be patient for a couple of days, and you can start playing with the new version yourself....

This is very good news.  I have a new DNN project that I've been stalling for about 2 weeks now in anticipation of this release.  Hearing that it's still on schedule is music to my ears...

why stir the pot ???      Just curious though. If you say "some folks", does that include you as well? (just to be clear who you are talking about)

WHO CARES..   it would have been easier to just ignore that part of the original post....

if 4.5 will be released while they are there.. I dont think it is a good reason to say dotnetnuke.com is not running 4.5 because they are there...

I know I did not have to answer that question, I thought about it.  But in the spirit of full disclosure I did.

By the way, I do think is bad PR to not use 4.5 on the DNN site.  It is a missed opportunity to raise the confidence on the release.

Just an update.  The official release date was pushed to the 19th so that we weren't trying to do a release while key team members are traveling.  We fully intend to run DotNetNuke.com on 4.5 before the official release date, as we do with every release, but for most releases we only make that final switch once we know that there will be no more db script changes.

Also, I don't believe that there are any major changes to the upgrade process for DNN 4.5.  Our installation changes in this release were all focused on new installations.  Once we have those issues ironed out (which we think we have with 4.5) then we will be able to look at some of the upgrade issues and start addressing them in future releases.

Last i checked 4.5 is breadcumbing on the dotnetnuke.com.

There was also some mention of a showstopper - that was being fixed.

Hows about we give the people doing the hard work a break and be happy for our free software when it arrives.
