Fellow DotNetNuke Users:

I am having a problem finding a News/Article Module that I can break down into catagories and out of the catagories listing choose a certain article or news submission to be listed as a headline. This is a php/mysql web based application that I was using in the begining but we decided to change over to DotNetNuke since alot of other people needing to access and make changes and didn't understand html or php coding. But this is similar to what I am looking for. {http://warringtonvfd16.com/news}

This is a non commercial site that I am working on for my local fire department for experience and to use later for sample work.

I am not just out looking for free modules. If you guys can point me in the direction to free or purchaseable modules that seem to do what I'm looking for I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance!

Did you check out News from www.ventrian.com or MagicNews from www.portalfabrik.net?

Also Articles from http://www.efficionconsulting.com , janet.Articles from http://www.janetsystems.co.uk and Engage: Publish from http://www.engagemodules.com/

I am not sure what an "article as a headline" means so can't say if these can do that.

While I love the Efficion articles module (and it's free)....I'd recommend the Ventrian News Articles module.  This module is still being maintained/updated and will only run you $25 (for a 3-month download subscription).

The other benefit is that, with host permissions, you can create additional display templates without having to directly modify the RESX and ASCX files.

Agree on Ventrian Systems News Articles module. Have used it for years and it keeps getting better. Highly recommended.
