Since the change to the new 4.4.3 forums here at DotNetNuke.com, I've noticed that my posts (and the posts of most other users) are appearing with the DisplayName rather than Username which for most of us means FirstName + LastName.  Although I can change my DNN profile's DisplayName to be the same as my Username, this causes problems for other areas within the DNN site - most notably the name used for benefactor snail mail.  It appears that it is not possible for individual forum users to set an alias or select whether DisplayName or Username is used on posts - the latter selection being available only to administrators of the forum and then only as a global setting applied to all users - something to consider adding as a feature in future versions.

How do other frequent posters feel about the change from displaying Username on the old forums to DisplayName in the current forums?

I noticed the change a few days ago and changed my profile.

Honestly, I was pissed.  It's a privacy issue.   I would assume the change was noticed..  unless nobody developing the forum looks at the forum?  This could be a big deal to some forums..   as it could be for this one.   I use my first name...  not really into creating a name for myself (no pun intended).
