Hi,

I recently upgraded my site for the security fixes and have noticed a few small issues with 4.8.4. First, if you are using the Log Viewer and change the Records per page the color coding is gone (not a big issue but annoying if you are looking for particular log entries).

Second, I am using Friendly URLs (urlFormat="HumanFriendly" in web.config) for most of my websites. In DNN 4.7.0, clicking on the login link would produce a link like below:

http://localhost/Login.aspx?ReturnUrl=%2fPageName.aspx

After logging in the URL would be

http://localhost/PageName.aspx

Using 4.8.4, friendly URLs are working but when I click the login link I get

http://localhost/Login.aspx?ReturnUrl=%2fDefault.aspx%3fTabID%3d56

After logging in the URL is

http://localhost/Default.aspx?TabID=56

As you can see, in 4.8.4 it seems the login link used in skins is using a TabId for the ReturnUrl instead of the friendly page name. Again, not a big issue (although I would prefer it to redirect to the friendly page name after being logged in) but I was wondering if anyone knows if this is by design for 4.8.4 or a bug?

Can anyone else confirm these issues, any help is appreciated?

I haven't upgraded any sites to 4.8.4 yet, but I know that the color issue in the log viewer is also in 4.8.0

If you delete one of the entries in the event log, the color-coding returns. At least in 4.8.2 ...

FYI: i believe the eventlog issue has been about for a few versions (it's an issue with rebinding the list within an ajax updatepanel), i'll check and see if it's resolved for 5.0.

The 2nd issue may have been introduced in 4.8.4 as i know there was a small piece of urlrewriting code altered (http://support.dotnetnuke.com/issue/ViewIssue.aspx?id=7785&PROJID=2), perhaps this has had a knockon effect. I'd be interested to see if this in the case or if the issue existing in pre-4.8.4 versions.

Thanks all for your responses. Cathal, I just did a quick test using 4.8.2 (I don’t have a copy of 4.8.3) and the ReturnUrl does have the friendly page name not the TabId, so it does look like the urlrewriting code that was altered for 4.8.3/4.8.4 may be causing this issue.
