My system:

DotNetNuke 4.8

Latin1_General_CI_AS as db&server collation

I localized Announcements 4.00.00 module for Turkish Community. Guess what? Nothing works!!!

If you are interested debugging and finding a permanent solution for this long-live bug (since 3.x releases) i am sharing locale pack ur here.

http://www.mikroproje.com/Portals/0/DNNLangPacks/ResourcePack.Announcements.04.00.00.tr-TR.zip

The problem is display template (item template does not work at all.

I am very sure this must be related to uppercase - lowercase issue of Turkish characters (i, and capital i - not that many countries using I as capital i, but we Turks, using dot above I for capital i) and we have I char as well, but its not capital and you shouldnt expect these English I and Turkish I as same characters)

I have been pulling my hair to solve this problem. But as i previously stated i have no developer skills. I'm here to help you as much as i can, but please consider doing a some research about Uppercase-lowercase problem i am pretty sure you will come up with a solution.

As DNN fans, we (Turks) want to use DNN as CMS, however we are wasting too many days & nights for finding workarounds. Even more than the time you spent on development of actual module.

Another issue is:

In right corner of module there should be a space between Select View: and dropdown list. But i couldn't find how to add that. Maybe via template or ascx file.

I'm going to redirect all Turkish users of DNN to this topic if they ask me why language resource not working.

To avoid duplication of issues in gemini (i.e. issue being logged again on the basis of this post) here is the link you logged : http://support.dotnetnuke.com/issue/ViewIssue.aspx?id=6914&PROJID=23 Cheers Ismet.

Ismet,

As i have no real easy way of testing this, i hope you (and/or other Turkish developers) can help solving this.

One question though: can you reproduce this error also in the text html module, udt and bulkmail modules. For this new version of the module i used the core tokenreplace functionality.

Hi Erik,

I will invite them to this topic, i hope they can share experiences.

As far as i know,  default text html module works fine, but with DNN 4.8 release (i am not mentioning specific module, i mean almost all Admin pages and Iconbar stopped working) we have such a great problem. I solved it locally with help from a Turkish developer. I'm going to post solution to Gemini in a few hours, i will update here.

OK, so the issue seems to become worse instead of better. My feeling is that it would be really beneficial to the Turkish community if Turkish developers could lend a hand solving this. AFAIK the Turkisch locale is the only one with issues at the moment

i will try to set up a test environment that will allow for testing this more thoroughly
