In FireFox 2.0.0.3 using DNN 4.5.0, when I edit text of a module that employs the FCKEditor, (html/text module, forum module, admin pages, etc.) I get an error:

Unknown Toolbar item "Universal Key"

In IE7 it works fine...

Can anyone repeat this?

The Universal Key problem is due to the plugin being removed in FCKEditor 2.4 and above. Someone has made a plugin based from previous code.

More info available here.

http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1640144&group_id=75348&atid=737639

I am not sure why it is working at all in IE7

Hmmm... are we sure this is it?  I had a confirmation that from another machine, this is OK from FIreFox 2 - but from my machine it consistantly gives me an error....

and yea... IE7 works fine....

This is not a bug. The universal keyboard was removed from the original FCKeditor package.

The provider package has removed all references to it in the custom/fckconfig.js as well.

If you are trying to include the button tag inside your fckconfig.js, it cannot work.

If it is working with some issues, then you must have some garbage from previous versions of FCKeditor (Some .js files). But the real thing is that you must follow the instructions given here:

http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1640144&group_id=75348&atid=737639

To create your own plug-in

Remember that those changes are not supported by the FCKeditor core team and that we only build the DNN provider.

B.T.W. I am not happy with that removal too.

Right...

Apparently something got messed up in my FIreFox cache with the older component - as soon as I cleared my cache, everything was fine....

Thanks for your help... much appreciated!
