I am kind of new to DNN and I am having some trouble looking for the source code for documents module...When i download the source code for DNN, there is no place where I can find the source code for induividual modules...For instance in one of my application, there is a desktop modules folder, which contains the modules in DNN (Document, links, forum, gallery etc.)...In the downloaded DNN code, there are 2 main folders - Library and Website. Neither of them contain desktop modules folder..So if i want to download the source code for these modules, where can I download them from? I am using DNN 4.3 version. Thanks in advance

If you go to the Documents Module project page, and select downloads.

You can then select the "install" or "Source" versions of the documents module.

Inside the source version a resources.zip file will contain all source code for the module.

Thank you. So when does this "DesktopModules" folder get created? Does it get created as soon as I download the souce code for Documents Module (Or any other module for that matter)? Or is it a user created folder? Thanks in advance

Hello,
When you downloaded the source code for the DotNetNuke core application, you noticed that there were two folders called Library and Website.  Library contains all of the code for the DotNetNuke code library, like NavigateURL and the PortalInfo object.  In the Website directory is the source code for the actual DNN website, which you will find the folder DesktopModules.

Downloading the source code for the Documents module will not create the DesktopModules folder. Actually, the Documents module is an independent VB.Net project that can be worked on independently of the DNN source code.  You'll have to modify your references in the Documents project, but it should still work.  To reference your modified Documents source code, just add a virtual directory to your IIS DNN setup under DesktopModules

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the replies...I downloaded the DNN core application. There were 2 folders - Library and website...However I did not find the desktop modules folder within the "Website" folder. I did see induividual modules within the DNN site. I can download each module seperately, but that is not very efficient. Is there some place where I can download all of the contents of the desktop modules folder? Thanks in advance!
