Hi,

I have a web application that uses a specific database for a client. I need to build them a custom CMS and I was wondering if I can link this CMS to their existing database of do I have to use a totally separate database. Also, this CMS will have a reporting module where I need to multiple lookup values into dropdownlists in order to generate this report and these lookup values will come from their existing database.

Is this all possible? I will be using the Community edition.

Thanks

you may install DNN into the existing database, but should specify an object qualifier to make sure not to conflict with existing names of tables, views etc.

sure, you can access any data inside the DNN database or any other data source in your own module or in generic modules like SqlGridSelectedView from www.tressleworks.ca.
