make sure, your web.config file has not been touched, especially the database connection.

I just attempted to run the instructions at the wiki, and all I got was a blank web page. No upgrade.

can you please recount in detail what you did exactly? Also, what server version is your installation running on, if on shared hosting, what type of access do you have etc.

Usually upgrading is as simple as unpacking the upgrade package over your installation and browse to the site.

If would recommend installing a fresh DNN core and then move your desktopmodules in and checkout how much work you have to do with reworking your custom modules. If that step is taken I would do a complete data migration or just accept the loss of your data. Other approach is upgrading step by step or setting back the version in the database till you can upgrade the database without any problems. At that stage it is easy if your third/ custom made modules run well under the latest version you want to upgrade to.

From dnn 2 to dnn 5...that is quite some years no maintenance took place of your software. With all respect: every software needs maintenance and is like a dog or cat which you should give attention :-).

I am about to upgrade a really old version 03.03.04 to the new version 6

Is there anything else I need to do, or can I just follow the steps in the wiki?
