Scott replied to a post I made on this quite awhile back but I'll write it up again. I'm not sure of the status of it though.

I'd like to see a better API for this (if it has not already been done). I noticed there were plans to incorporate it into the whitbey 2.0 member API. I am guessing that there will be an isOnline() field in the user property.

I would also like to propose having a simpler\quick solution. I don't want to always have to create a user object and check its isOnline() property.

So I would like to have a function:

userOnlineCtl.isUserOnline(byval userID as integer)

This would be useful is I had a list of users generated from another source and wanted to mark which users in the list were online.

And also, return an arraylist of users online. I am guessing return a list of user objects would be best:

userOnlineCtl.getUsersOnline(byval portalID) as arraylist

Hi Jason,

Yes, these are the exact enhancements to the API that I think need to be done. Also, a better way to display the counts, e.g. UsersOnlineController.VisitorsOnline that returns an integer.

I'll post up a document for comment soon.

Hi Scott,

Is the document for enhancements available?
