How flexible/powerful will themes be in the new forum version 4.04?

 - Are there going to be templates for the different views (forum, thread, post, etc) that could be customized?

 - Are we going to have tokens?

Thanks.

Ivan

No, this is not part of 4.4.3. Our next release to follow (if this one ever releases) is 4.5 that is ajax support and bug fixes. The one after that release (probably 9 months away at the earliest) will be our target for a true templating system that actually supports HTML upload similar to the DNN skinning engine (and token support).

So I guess from a "skinning" perspective the new forum will not differ much from the current one - some customization possible thru CSS?

Is there a beta version of 4.4.3 available for download?

Thanks.

You can change every single image and piece of text in the module in 4.4.3 through themes. You cannot, however, change the layout structure. I think the demo site at www.dnnforums.com shows it is fairly flexible in appearance.

Great work with those example skins Crispy. It certainly demonstrates the flexibility of skinning well. Keep up the good work.
