Laxanh, the Media module is different from the Gallery module.

so should I use the media module or the gallery module to post mp3 audio files?

I have a list of conference calls that are recorded to post on our website... help.

I would recommend the Repository module for a list of mp3 audio files.

cool, that's the second recommendation I've read for the repository to display .mp3 files... so it's not going to play them right just allow the user to download or stream to their desktop player?

The Repository module is quite flexible for many purposes. You will get better support from their team forum, so try posting there.
