I installed the 3.0.12 version of the Gallery (not knowing it was not the most current or stable release) onto my 4.8 DNN.  It installed fine but as soon as I put the module on a page, I got the following error message:

Server Error in '/dnn' Application. The resource cannot be found.Description: HTTP 404. The resource you are looking for (or one of its dependencies) could have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.  Please review the following URL and make sure that it is spelled correctly. Requested URL: /dnn/Home/tabid/36/Default.aspx

The site will no longer come up,  I can't log in to uninstall the module or delete it off the page.  What should I do?

Thanks,

Carolyn

That version of the Gallery which was included with an earlier version of the DNN Forums module had many problems, the worst being that it would not work if Use Friendly URLS was enabled in the host settings.

You should be able to force a login and go to the Module Definitions page by entering the following URL in your browser then log in as host:

http://<domain>/Host/Module%20Definitions/tabid/18/portalid/0/Default.aspx

where <domain> would be replaced with your site's address. Following a successful login you could either 1) disable Friendly URLs in the host settings or 2) uninstall the module.

A new version of the Gallery which corrects this bug and many others is proceeding through the DNN Release Tracker and hopefully will be available for public release before too long. Please note that this version will require DNN 4.09.00 or later.

Personaly I would say that the 3.x versions are only for using in old 3.x DNN versions.  There are 2 big issues in using Gallery 3.x on DNN 4.x, these are it is not working with friendly URLs (must be disabled in Host settings) and it have issue with the URL creating where in the URL are empty strings or setting with %20 which must be a empty or + type.

All this issues are solved with the upcomming version which needed DNN 4.9 or higher.
