This error seemed to happen out of nowhere. I get the stack trace:

DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: The server tag is not well formed. ---> System.Web.HttpParseException: The server tag is not well formed. ---> System.Web.HttpException: The server tag is not well formed. at System.Web.UI.TemplateParser.ProcessError(String message) at ....

Since then I have tried upgrading to DNN 4.5.3, removing and reinstalling the blog module (both 03.02.00 and 03.03.00), manually ensuring the db tables was dropped. All other modules (including XML) are newest version. Even tried with the default skin, and this still yields the same error.

Plz help - I'm at my wits end...

Regards,

aspliid

Not quite sure where to start, but:

- Happens on every page on your site or even a new page with no modules?
- Happens on standard skin (e.g., DNN Blue), or just on a custom skin?
- Server Tag not well formed indicates something is spitting out bad HTML code I believe. Can you View | Source and paste it into DreamWeaver or another HTML editor that might show syntax errors?
- Can you show us the offending lines of code?

did you use release.config as template for your web.config, only keeping your connection strings, EncryptionKeys, CodeSubdirectories, databaseOwner and ObjectQualifier values?

Solved it: in EditEntry.ascx, line 21, some guy (maybe french? :) ) wrote ResourcêKey instead of ResourceKey. That did the trick!

Thx for the replies.

I can assure this bug has been fixed. I fixed it Tuesday evening and it will go out in our next release. Sorry that it caused some problems, not sure where it came from.
