Wait... hold the presses!  The wait is almost over.

I just found this and it kind of invalidates the post I made a few hours ago asking about the API.  With this, I am hoping I will be able to adapt an asp dot net program or something to receive an email and then use the API to post by email from a PDA.  Or even just write a utility to post directly from a PDA.

Once the API is enabled I strongly believe that, in time, you will see the applications go beyond just being able to use LiveWriter.  This opens blog up to people's imagination.

I know the API has always been marked as trivial on the tracker.  But its a big big step... thanks in advance guys!  Thanks for all the work you are putting into this.

Hi Ray,

the ability to post using offline editors such as WLW is a key feature that will highly increase the module's usability. The spread of PDAs and 2nd generation mobiles will make available many more devices to open the interface to. I think this is going to be the next step, indeed.

Best regards,
Dario Rossa
