Does anyone know what the status is for the upcoming release for the blog module version 3.05? There was a posting in the development blog about six weeks ago that said it was in "release tracker". I'd love to get started with it. I don't know how long the release tracker process normally takes...any idea when it might surface?

You can actually follow it in the release tracker by going here

You can see which projects are in the tracker, and what their status is in there.

Hi Mike,

the first submission to the release tracker failed because of an unneeded file in the package. The module has been resubmitted, and will be released as soon as it passes all the steps in the release tracker. Since this new version includes so many enhancements, we hope this will take not too much time.

Best regards,
Dario Rossa

Can someone explain to me why "passing all the steps in the release tracker" takes six weeks?

I'm not being a jerk, I just don't understand what can possibly take so long.   Is there a formal "this is what we have" release?

Any documentation on how to set up the project files wrt the main DNN libraries?

Hi Brian,

the release process is made of many differents steps, many checks and tests on different environments. Moreover the projects devloping and release process is worked out on volounteer basis by non-paid professionals. This is why is quite difficult to schedule a timeline for the new versions release.

All the project team worked hard in this module, as well as in the support for old fixed issues, so we are all looking forward the day it will be available to everybody. But passing all the release process will grant the final user that the product complies to the high-level standards that DotNetNuke requires for the Core modules.

Finally, the official DotNetNuke policy is very clear about forbidding any distribution of pre-release betas, since this may lead to problems with production installations and it could make support very difficult.

Best regards,
Dario Rossa
