I spent a good half day working on the forum module to see what else is just not completely right with it.  This includes applying all fixes i mention in the developing forums post i made.  It also includes some other enhancements, minor, which i logged in gemini and othrs i have not:

  • Breadcrumb navigation to show only a specific group when clicking on a group name.
  • Fixed email notificaiton for moderators - Now it only sends to those who want to receive
  • Added anchors so you can navigate to a specific post on a page, and if a psot is not moderated you are taken directly to the post you just added (in emails too)
  • Added Delete Post template selection for pre-populated responses.
  • Added a header to each post in post view and moved the posted date to this header - uses alt_header class
  • Minor css changes, attempting a final cleanup of themes, noticed clashes creating a new theme
  • Fixed some of the issues w/ the UI of What's New, working on data side as well
  • Adding a report abuse action and link in each post - Not finished
  • Need to add spot to reset search indexing date so a complete indexing can be forced if necessary
  • Fixed Thread Move action and redirection
  • Fixed error w/ delete read status from My Settings for each user

Aside from this, is there anything I am overlooking right now?  I am not asking for any major enhancements or anything else like that, basically I am looking to get a feel if of when I should schedule another release of hte module.  For the most part everything seems to be going very well so far with this 3.20.01 release.  I would appreciate any feedback on bugs not mentioned here that should be added in the next release.

I've just started looking at moving from YAF to the DNN Forums. I've identified a problem for me.

The date filtering used in the 'Display active threads for:' and 'What's New' doesn't seem to work when using en-GB localization. I get strange results, or none at all, if I use 'Today' or 'Past Week'.

I'm guessing this is to do with subtracting 'Past Week' or 'Past Month' from the date in dd/mm/yyyy format. When I change my language to en-US, the filtering works fine.

Is this known about? If so what's the resolution, or timeline to one? If there isn't a resolution, I'll try and look into the code at some point.

Cheers
Roger

I was aware of some issues around timezone dates and also that area itself, but I was not aware they are related to one another.  As for a resolution, i have to reproduce the problem myself first to begin to think of one.  Just so its clear, no offense Roger, there will be no timelines posted that are anything more than generic and project status can usually be found out by visiting my blog.  To let you know, I don't see a long time between the last release and the next one.

Sorry Chris, I shouldn't have asked for a timeline.

To reproduce, you need to add en-GB as a language to your test portal, then change your users language to English(UK). You should then see the problem on the Forum. If I get a chance I'll look at it today.

Cheers
Roger
