Duder answered the question Flash layer obscuring other content

Try using the "wmode" attribute and setting it to "opaque" on your flash object. This allows HTML elements to overlap SWF content.

Add the following parameter to the OBJECT tag:

Greg Griffin answered the question Is a discussion forum going to be included as part of the core?

Question about this new forge version of Active Forum - will this migrate/upgrade the existing content we had in the default forum module? I understood that there would be a migration path. Any advice appreciated.

Duder asked the question Page Load Exception

When I am logged in and sit idle'd for a few minutes, then attempt to navigate to a new page I get the following error:

"A critical error has occurred. Could not load type 'System.Runtime.CompilerServices.ExtensionAttribute' from assembly 'mscorlib, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089'."

If I try to navigate to the page again, it works just fine. I have restarted the application as well as the server with no luck. Can someone please help me figure out what is going on?

Trevor Guyton answered the question social groups error

It was me, of course !
I didn't click the 'auto configure' button and went straight to settings and made adjustments to suit my needs
When I delete that module and adding a new social module, then clicked auto configure, all was well.

Trevor Guyton asked the question social groups error

Hi,
I have just done a fresh install via webmatrix 3 of latest dnn, however when I try to create a social group I get the following error:

The request filtering module is configured to deny a request where the query string is too long

and therefore no group is created.
I thought it might be something to do with my PC settings as this install was local so I uploaded to my website (windows azure) but the same thing happened there.

Any hints on what I should be looking for ?
Thanks for your help.

bfaliu asked the question AD Roles Sync not working

Helloeveryone,

I'm running the extension on DNN7(Community Edition) upon a IIS7.5. The login with AD credentials is working perfectly but the role sync isn't working. I followed the instruction from forums (add a security role with the exact same name of a AD group) but still not working.

Please help us !

keith asked the question DNN 7 installation failure using asp.net 4.0 integrated mode on iis 7.5

We have an iis7.5 server setup running integrated mode, with a unique web id, which has full rights to the site location, but if we runn the wizard, the wizard doesnd show the checking database control, it basically is a single line box with no "checking database" text in it. and the db check always fails when you submit, however set the app pool to classic, then you can check the db access, but on the next page it says you need integrated mode, so we change it back to integrated and click retry and it finishes the install fine.

Any idea why this is happening and what is a fix for this, as I have a few sites I want to run in a shared environment.

Michael Tobisch answered the question "Stay in Edit Mode" not working across pages

Jon,

It works on my 07.00.05 site as you expect - so upgrading could be an option, in the meantime, 07.00.06 is available (have not tested this specific behaviour yet, but I can't believe that they re-implemented a bug...)

Or: Change the Control Panel from CONTROLBAR to RIBBONBAR.

Best wishes
Michael

Jon B asked the question "Stay in Edit Mode" not working across pages

    Hello all,

First of all thank you for a great open source product. DNN Community is working great for the small site I am building.

I am having a small, but irritating, problem. I am able to edit pages just fine but it seems like checking the "Stay in Edit Mode" option is not working.

For example: When I am in edit mode and this option is checked and I click a menu link on the site to begin editing that different page the site just loads the next page and takes me out of edit mode. I have to manually turn edit mode back on each time I switch pages while in Edit mode. I am using the most recent DDRMenu Token-based menu and am running DNN Community 7.00.04 (180).

I'm not sure how to start troubleshooting this or where to look further. Can anyone offer help?

    Thank you very much!
    Jon

Steven Webster answered the question DNN Social

    Keith,
DNN Social builds on top of the core group functionality for groups and adds new modules such as Q&A, Ideas, etc. So, the functionality within groups is the same for CE, PE and DNN Social.

As you've pointed out, the core group functionality is still pretty basic (e.g. private groups are supported - but there is no way to invite users.)

Hopefully now that DNN Social v1 has shipped, some of the CE core social features will see some improvements that support common use cases.
