About the Documents Module
The DotNetNuke "Documents" module presents a list of files within DotNetNuke for download by end users. Documents can be stored within a DotNetNuke portal, or accessed from an external website or portal. Access to documents can be secured using the core role-based security from within DotNetNuke, including "secure storage".
Next Version (Version 4.1.0)
The next version of the Documents module will be completed to resolve a few outstanding issues from the 4.0.0 release. Blow is a listing of items that will be covered in the next release.
DOC-7200: Issue with no category selected defaulting to country list
DOC-7201: Default sort options not properly performing sort
DOC-7202: Display in other languages can result in wrapped headers
DOC-7544: Incorrect spelling in resource file for column heading
DOC-7491: Module doesn't default to full width to fill container
DOC-7490: Alt text on down arrow reads "Move Up"
Note: The current version of the documents module (and any version later than 4.0.0) requires DotNetNuke 4.5 or later.
Our Vision for the Future
Later versions of the documents module will build on proposed new core features like:
- Workflow management and versioning.
- Visual "templates" that render the documents module in a variety of ways.
- User-defined fields.
